Apple TV +: Content, Features, and What to Expect

Yet another new streaming service is on the horizon, and it’s coming from Apple.

Apple TV + is set to launch on November 1st, offering an enticing free one-year subscription for anyone who purchases a new Apple gadget. Other new subscribers will enjoy a free seven-day trial. At full price, an Apple TV + subscription will cost just $5 per month.

With a sweeping lineup of stars and a promise of cutting-edge content, the building to the launch of Apple TV + is quickly gaining momentum. Here, we’ll cover everything to expect as a consumer, including shows, movies, original content, and special features.

Apple TV + Original Content

Apple has announced the release of nine original titles to drop with Apple TV + in November. These are:

1. The Morning Show: A comedy-drama series starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell.
2. See: A drama starring Jason Mamoa and Alfre Woodard.
3. For All Mankind: A Ronald D. Moore series about the American space program.
4. Dickinson: A dark comedy about the life of a young Emily Dickinson starring Hailee Steinfeld.
5. Helpsters: A series for kids from the makers of Sesame Street.
6. Snoopy in Space: A Peanuts original movie starring Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the Peanuts gang.
7. The Elephant Queen: A documentary following the life of a matriarch elephant.
8. Ghostwriter: A remake of the 90’s series surrounding four kids raised by a ghost.
9. Oprah’s Book Club: A series led by Oprah Winfrey as she discusses the work of leading authors.

While these nine series are confirmed for the launch date, additional originals will be added every month.

Apple TV + Features

Apple TV + comes with several attractive features, especially for Apple device users.

• Originals on Apple TV + can be viewed both on and offline.
• Apple TV + is ad-free.
• The Apple TV app will launch with the streaming service.
  • It will now come pre-installed on the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and iPod Touch. The Apple TV app will also soon come pre-installed on MAC with new software “macOS Catalina”.
  • Select Samsung smart TVs will have access to the app.
  • The app will eventually be available on Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony, and VIZIO.
  • Subscribers can always access Apple TV + originals online at the Apple TV website.
• Apple TV + won’t release all of the episodes in a series at once for every series (though some shows will be dropped in their entireties). Most series will be released with three episodes available, with one new episode dropping on a weekly basis.
• People in more than 100 countries will have access to Apple TV +, and originals will be available in just about 40 languages.
